The dog everyone loves now leaps into the '90s in this all-new, exciting, updated version of Lassie! On the way to start a new life at a sheep farm in rural Virginia, the Turner family is joined by Lassie, playing a friendly stray, who also happens to be an expert sheep dog. And Lassie is there to save the day!
Writer-director Charles Sturridge doesn't mess with the Lassie formula%u2014he provides plenty of dog-porn shots of the collie bounding through scenery in slow motion%u2014but the overqualified cast puts the film over the top.

The plot stays simple and predictable through out the entire movie, but you never mind because it is so life affirming.
A remarkably clean, bracing production that does a difficult thing exceptionally well, depicting believably modern young people in a believably old-fashioned plot.
