Zeek Braverman (Craig T. Nelson)Zeek Braverman is the voluble patriarch of the Braverman clan.Zeek is a study in opposites. He has been both soldier in Vietnam and peace activist and hippie. He has been a businessman and expressed himself creatively as an actor.He is the type of guy for whom there is always a next thing to try and eventually abandon. Although his focus is not always extended, he has been consistent with his four children Adam, Sarah, Crosby, and Julia with whom he butts heads, has big laughs, and, occasionally smokes pot. Although his militaristic approach to raising them was sometimes a struggle for all involved, including his long-suffering wife Camille, his kids still turn to him.
