T.J. is the leader of his group and is respected and beloved by all of the kids at 3rd Street who admire his courage and leadership skills. T.J. will always stand up for what he believes in and although he is not as smart as Gretchen, he comes up with most of the plans that help his fellow classmates against adults or eachother. He is one of the first kids to recognize Gus as an individual rather than the new kid and came up with a plan to help him overcome the challenges of being new in town. Although T.J. is leader material he does not try to seize power from King Bob, rather he helps the King of the Playground sort out fights and gives him advice about how to deal with other kids. He once became mad with power in the episode, Economics of Recess but otherwise he is kind, thoughtful and willing to help anyone who needs it.T.J.'s best friend is Vince and the two like to enjoy rousing games of kickball with the 5th graders and their friends. The two rarely argue and enjoy pulling pranks on Miss Finster and Principle Prickly. It is believed by some that T.J. admires Spinelli and in the episode First Name Ashley he said, There are many Ashleys, but there's only one Spinelli. He is also one of the only memebers of the gang that can get Spinelli to calm down so she doesn't start an unneccesary fight.T.J. has an older sister, Becky and was first seen in the episode The Break In. He is now a fifth grader in Miss Finster's class.
