Ashley Spinelli is an Italian American tomboy. She dispises anything having to do with makeup and other girly stuff. She tried very hard to keep her friends and fellow classmates from finding out her first name, because it associates her with the Ashleys- a group of snobby rich girls, all by the name of Ashley who are very girly. She loves wrestling and other athletic activities. Other than Gretchen, Spinelli doesn't hang out with any other girls, preferring instead to hang around T.J. and the other boys in the gang. Spinelli and Gretchen are possibly best friends, Spinelli refers to her as Gretch and the two talk about things they can not discuss in front of the guys.Although Spinelli loves pulling pranks on Miss Finster, she did bond with the grouchy teacher/duty-aid when Miss Finster agreed to babysit her and the two realized they had a lot in common. After that episode, Spinelli shows Miss Finster respect and rarely causes her problems.Spinelli is good friends with T.J. and secretly has a crush on him. When others can not calm her down, they turn to T.J. to help her relax. The two shared a kiss in The Experiment when Butch told them his older brother liked kissing girls and they did not believe him. Both stated they did not like the kiss in front of the other kids and laughed it off. It is unknown how they truely felt about it.Spinelli is an only child and was first seen in The Break In.
