Cody Rhodes (aka Cody Runnels) is a WWE wrestler. He debuted in 2007 with Hardcore Holly, also on his debut night another WWE wrestler by the name of Randy Orton slapped Cody's father in the face showing great disrespect. This started a fued between the two that lasted several weeks. After his rivalry with Orton, Rhodes went on to attack other wrestlers including Daivari, Shelton Benjamin, and Brian Kendrick. A great fued started between Hardcore Holly which ended with Cody losing 3 consecutive matches but gaining Holly's respect. They then formed a tag team going on to win the World Tag Team Championship. They retained their title for several weeks by beating teams such as Cade and Murdoch, Santino Marella and Carlito, and Paul London and Brian Kendrick. In May of 2008 Ted DiBiase began threatening to take the titles from the team. At a pay- per- view event (Night of Champions) Rhodes revealed that he was DiBiase's partner and turned on Holly. This started Cody's long road as a villain. Ted and Cody held the championship for a month before John Cena and Batista took it on August 4. The next week the team used their rematch clause to try and regain the championship. Their attempt was successful only to lose it again in October against Kofi Kingston and CM Punk. During this time Rhodes, DiBiase and Manu entered a storyline with Randy Orton where Orton constantly criticized and insulted them. Even after this Rhodes and Manu accpeted Orton's offer for an alliance and became known as The Legacy. Orton began testing his members so that they could prove themselves. After two weeks both Manu and Sim Snuka were kicked out. In January of 2009 Snuka and Manu gave Rhodes a chance to align with them and DiBiase to attack Orton, but he refused. As Snuka, Manu, and DiBiase ambushed Orton, DiBiase turned on them and instead joined Orton and Rhodes to attack Snuka and Manu. The Legacy then became Orton, Rhodes, and DiBiase. Together Orton used Rhodes and DiBiase to do his dirty work like going up against his rivals such as the McMahon Family, Triple H, and Batista. This caused Triple H to reform DX with Shawn Michaels. Both Rhodes and DiBiase and DX went back and forth defeating each other. Currenty The Legacy is still together but with tension as DiBiase was forced by Orton to not fight back in a match on October 19, 2009. Show less «
