Confident, yet complex thirty-something FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth specialises in Major Crimes. Coming from a family of military men, Booth is incredibly honourable, loyal and patriotic. As an Army Ranger, he worked as a sniper, deployed in Iraq, Kosovo and Guatalmela, though the full extent of his military action is unknown. He was tortured multiple times both as a Ranger and FBI agent. He has been an FBI agent since he was at least 25.A public school graduate, Booth was a jock, voted MVP in his Senior year. He is street-smart having been raised in a modest home in Philadelphia. His father, a fighter jet pilot, served in Vietnam before retiring to become a barber. His father was an alcoholic and was abusive to his sons growing up. His mother wrote jingles for a local advertising agency. He was also very close to his grandfather, who helped raise him after his father left. He credits for keeping him from killing himself when he was a kid. Seeley is a distant descendent of John Wilkes Booth, Lincolns assassin. He has at least one younger brother, Jared, who is also a military man.Possibly resulting from his difficult times in the Army, Booth is a recovering gambling addict. He carries many meaningful mementos with him at all times including a poker chip and dice, as well as wearing a St. Christopher's medal. This last is especially significant as Booth is a Catholic, and shows intense signs of spiritualty. He enjoys restoring vintage classic cars in his spare time. He loves sports and is a fan of the Pittsburg Steelers. He prefers to talk sports and use sports comparisons whenever possible. He loves hockey and even participates in a rec league.Having met Dr. Temperance Brennan, forensic anthropolgist from Washington DC's Jeffersonian Institute when she consulted for him on a case, he recognised her skills and persued her to work with him again on particularly difficult case. Brennan, whom Booth nicknames Bones, demanded full participation in the case, fieldwork and labwork. Booth reluctantly agreed but quickly a productive partnership formed, where his instinctive approach mixed with Brennan's empiricism leads the partners to one of the highest solve rates in the Bureau. Their close partnership has evolved into a close and open friendship. They have a very special level of trust and honesty with one another. His work with Dr Brennan also has him working in close proximity with her team, which he affectionately dubs squints. While he easily recognizes their expertise, he is often ill at ease with them especially their use of scientific jarrgon. Over the years his comfort level has increased and has developed a certain soft spot for His Squints. Booth has an enormous sense of duty, but finds it easy to break the rules when his, or his partner's, life depends on it. He loves to work outside the box but had to squash his partner when she finds it difficult to cope with the beauracracy of the FBI.Private and discreet about his personal life Booth has had a few romantic relationships, including a liasion with Dr. Camille Sayoran. Their affair ended many years ago but was rekindled breifly after she joined the Jeffersonian and became Brennan's boss. He also dated a lawyer named Tessa. The center of his life and more important than anything to Booth, is his young son, Parker, from his relationship with Rebecca Stinson. Being a good father to Parker is one of Booth's main goals, yet he often struggles with self-doubt with his parenting choices. He and Temprance Brennan (Bones) are now expecting a child.Has a child with Temprance Brennan (Bones) a girl named Christine Angela Booth, they named her after Temprance Brennan (Bones) mother Christine Brennan and there friend Angela Montenegro. He and Brennan are now married.
