Cam ( Don't call me Camille ) Saroyan, M.D., is Bones' immediate superior. Chief Coroner of New York for two years and Assistant Federal Coroner before that, she replaced Dr. Goodman overseeing the Foresnic Anthropology Department. She also provides expertise in cases where the bones still have flesh. Wasting no time, she dives right in to administering and then getting her hands dirty in helping the Squint Squad solve cases.Focused on cost-efficient evidence that will stand up in court, she originally clashed with Dr. Brennan and, therefore, Brennan's devoted colleagues. Trust and understanding slowly began to build between them, particularly when Cam emphatically defended the actions of the Squad to the Federal Prosecutor; however, the relationship remains tentative.Part of this may be attributable to the fact that, before she joined the Jeffersonian, Cam had a relationship with Booth. The relationship was rekindled for a brief time, ending abruptly when she was poisoned by a serial killer. Barely surviving the attack, their relationship was ended by Booth to protect those he is close to.Within her hard, professional exterior, there is a soft, caring heart. Coming from a close family, Cam was being pressured by her father to settle down and so has him believing she is still in a relationship with Booth. A sucker for a romance novel, she is softening and becoming a valuable member of the team.Cam has also become a single mother. After the body of an ex-boyfriend, with whom she had lived, was found partially eaten in a zoo, she adopted his teenaged daughter. Show less «
