Quentin first appeared at the beginning of the fifth season. Quentin begins his character arc as a cocky basketball star for the Tree Hill Ravens. He also harrasses Haley in class. His refusal to attend class forces Lucas to kick him off the team. Eventually, through the effort of Nathan and Haley, Quentin agrees to read Les Miserables by Victor Hugo in order to regain elegibility to play basketball. However upon his return he severally injures his wrist defending Haley at a club. Lucas changes the whole Tree Hill offense to one where Quentin becomes a pure passer and the team begins to win games. Quentin becomes heavily involved with Nathan and Haley's son Jamie, and wants to be a good role model. Just when Quentin has finally turned the corner and found value in his life, he is shot and killed when he walks into a gas station robbery in progress. His death becomes a pivitol turning point in the series for many of the characters, inspiring Nathan to continue his basketball comeback.
