Odafin 'Fin' Tutuola's premier episode was Season 2, Episode 1 ( Wrong is Right ) after Captain Cragen goes before the Morris Commission to discuss the suspension of Monique Jeffries. Fin replaces Jeffries as Detective Munch's new partner. Fin's first interaction with Captain Cragen does not seem to give Fin much hope, as Cragen hardly acknowledges him. Jeffries approaches Fin and asks if she can help with something. Fin reports that he has been reassigned. Jeffries informs him that he is there for her job. Fin states, well this is awkward. Jeffries replies with, try my side of the moment, and walks away, leaving Fin standing in the squad room alone.The audience finds out that Fin has a background in the narcotics unit. He is less about structure and more about doing right by the victim. When the audience first sees Fin, he is dressed in the apparel of a gangster. The next time he is seen, he is wearing a collared shirt and vest. Fin appears uncomfortable at first with discussing the details of sex crimes, but he gets used to it as the series progresses.
