A wealthy businessman, Walter was first introduced when Rebecca Howe was requested by her company to throw a party for Walter's daughter, Kelly.Kelly soon after began dating Woody, and while Walter tolerated his daughter's wishes to date him, he still never fully became enamored with Woody's 'simple ways.' In Season 8 of the tv series, Walter sent Kelly off to Europe to get her away from Woody (even going so far as to tell Woody this himself).Walter and his wife are divorced, and Walter took care of his daughter until Kelly married Woody. Walter still financially supported his daughter and son-in-law, allowing them to stay in a guest house on his property, and even financing a trip to Europe for both of them.In the final season of the series, Walter has an affair with his sister-in-law, and is worried when it seems that Woody may have found out. However, after attempting to bribe Woody, he finds out that Woody didn't know, and even when he does find out, Woody says he won't tell. However, Walter has to contend with the Butler knowing.Rebecca Howe even at one point assumes that Walter likes her when he invites her to his estate, only to find that he wants her to help with the refreshments. When Walter finds out, he tries to have Rebecca be his guest, but her inebriated state causes her to be ejected from the party.Walter later asks Rebecca to a dinner in apology for everything, but she claims that she would only do so because of his wealth, and Walter departs.
