Joy Turner was born Joy Darvill. Her parents were Buzz and Connie Darvill. When she was young she wanted to be famous-and when she was about 6 became Camden's Prettyest Pretty Princess. The next year she again competed to be Prettyest Pretty Princess, but Sally Stocker beat her. Around this time she also met her future husband and his brother Earl and Randy Hickey. They were all at the beach one summer and Joy and Randy fell for each other. It was not until about 20 years later (and after she had divorced Earl) that Randy and Joy realized they fell for each other.In her 20's Joy turned to crime to make ends meet. Then one night at a Halloween party she got pregnant with her first son Dodge. Several months later needing some money she got Earl Hickey drunk and married him. They raised Dodge and soon after Joy got pregnant with a baby of Earls, or so Earl thought. Joy had been having an affair with Darnell Turner (real name Harry Monroe) an African American employee of The Crab Shack, and she did not know whose baby it was. When the baby was born it turned out black.Earl was mad, but stayed with her for several years, until he got hit by a car. While he was in the hospital Joy divorced Earl and soon after married Darnell.That is where their lives became interesting. Earl won 100,000 dollars and used that money and made a list of everything bad he ever did and tried to make up for i with the help of the money. Some of the list items included things he did to Joy. Joy at first did not like it and called Earls list his idiot list, but liked when Earl made things up to her.After she married Darnell Turner she found out that she had a half sister named Liberty. Liberty was the product of an affair between Buzz Darville and an African-American woman. Joy new and disliked Liberty and both were not thrilled when it was discovered that they were sisters. Liberty wanted to become a wrestler, but she and her husband Ray Ray ( a caucasion version of Darnell) wanted a Ray Ray Ray. During this time Joy got in trouble by stealing a truck and kidnapping the truck driver. Since it would be her third strike she needed something to make her seem more simpathetic to the jury and agreed to carry a baby for Liberty and Ray Ray. They were hoping for a son Ray Ray Ray but ended up with Ray Ray Rayanne. As it turned out she did not need to worry about going to jail because Earl said he had stolen the truck and was sent to jail for a while, instead.Shortly after she gave birth to her niece Earl saw a competition called Estrada or Nada staring Erik Estrada. He wanted to get Joy on the show and she landed on it. During the show however she outed Darnell (who had been in Witness Protection) Because of this they were temporarily given new names. For a time Joy went by Phyllis Rosenstien, and several other names before blackmailing the two agents assigned to the detail into becoming Goldie Crystal and living in a mansion.Threw the list they found out some interesting things. One was about Dodge. Joy had told Earl that she could not remember who his father was, but she slept with him at a concert. Then Joy told Earl that she thought that Little Chubby (the son of a rich owner of half of Camden) was the father. With the help of Darnell Earl found that Little Chubby was not Dodge's father. It turned out that she had slept with a guy in a skelton costume at a Halloween party. She thought that Little Chubby was the father, but it turned out Earl was wearing the same costume making him Dodge's biological father. Show less «
