Holden McCrea was one of the five College youths chosen for the 2012 North American Ancient Ones Appeasal Ritual as a sacrifice, portrayed by Jesse Williams he was chosen to be 'The Scholar' of the ritual. Holden was formerly a College Varsity Football player on Curt Vaughan's Varsity team whom was a good friend of his, set up by him and his girlfriend Jules Louden to get to know Jules' bestfriend/flatmate Dana Polk. He had accompanied the group to what was believed to be Curt's cousin's cabin on Tillerman Road. There he had checked into Room 3 but switched after discovering a two way mirror into Dana's room. Holden then remained in Room 4 and from there under the influence of the personality, pheromone manipulating drugs became overtly analytical and began to recall Latin he had learnt from 3rd Grade as well donning uneeded glasses. In the cellar he had via a music box almost unleashed the nightmare creature the 'Sugarplum Fairy.' Holden had following Jules death and the attack of Matthew Buckner in the cabin made his way with Dana down into the Black Room where he was attacked by Matthew Buckner's bear trap which he was saved from by Dana. From there Holden accompanied Dana and Curt to the Rambler where they came to the tunnel which collapsed with them halfway in and was forced to return to the Gorge. At the Gorge Holden suggested a means of getting across to Curt who then perished before him and Dana's eyes by means of an invisible Facility forcefield. Holden then operating the Rambler began to drive him and Dana in search of another path out of the area but was quickly killed after calming a traumatized Dana as Papa Buckner who had stowed away in the back of the Rambler stabbed his ceremonial knife through the back of Holden's neck and out his throat twice before finally stabbing him the back, leaving him to bleed to death before a screaming Dana as the Rambler paraded off a cliff and into the lake.
