Dana Polk is one the five selected participants for the North American Ancient Ones Appeasal Ritual of 2012 and is portrayed by Kristin Connolly. Dana had been selected as the Virgin of the ritual who unlike the others' death was optional, as long as it was last. She was the bestfriend and flatmate of Jules Louden as well as a longtime friend of Jules' boyfriend Curt Vaughan and stoner Marty Mikalski. She had been in an intimate relationship with Professor Bennett from her and Dana's university which ended abruptly over email. Dana had been set up by Curt and Jules with Curt's friend and fellow College Varsity player Holden McCrea. Dana upon arriving at the cabin settled in to Room 4 but upon Holden's discovery of rooms 3 & 4 containing a two-way mirror had them switch, with her taking Holden's room. Dana had then been one of the group in the cellar to choose how the sacrifices would die and how she would suffer: by reading out the Latin of Anna Patience Buckner's diary she had the Facility send up the Zombie Redneck Torture famil: comprising of Patience, Papa and Mama Buckner, Matthew and Judah Buckner. In the end Dana with the help of Marty were able to infiltrate the facility via the Buckner elevator. Dana purged the facility with the purge button unleashing the 'Army of Nightmare Creatures' and even accidentally with Judah Buckner's trowel stabbed and killed facility technician Gary Sitterson. Along with Marty Dana discovered the chambers below containing the underground North American Ancient ones and under pressured persuasion from the Director aimed the gun supplied by Marty at him to kill in order to prevent their rising. Dana was fatally mauled by the released Werewolf of the facility and upon the Director and Patience Buckner's deaths Marty had injured the werewolf away saving Dana's life, for a temporary amount of time. Dana ultimately perished after sharing a cannabis cigarette with Marty on the Chambers below staircase grasping his hand as the hand of one of the North American Ancient Ones ripped forth killing them both instantly.
