Bertram Cooper (Robert Morse)Bert Cooper is a founding partner of the successful Manhattan advertising agency that bears his name Sterling Cooper. He co-founded the agency with late friend Roger H. Sterling, Sr. and now runs the company with Sterling's son Roger, Jr.Bert is a deeply eccentric older man. While it is clear he is very attuned to the creative side of the agency--and an art collector himself-- he is also pragmatic in his approach to business, people, and perceptions. He does not play as active a role as he once did in the day-to-day operations of the agency but he keeps a close watch and his counsel is always sought and respected even if his underlings sometimes roll their eyes at his unconventional customs, picked up from his world travels.Bert is a Republican and involved with helping candidates in the party.
