Bebop is a mutant warthog who serves as a henchman of the Shredder, the Turtles' archenemy. He is usually partnered with his best friend the mutant rhino Rocksteady. While both are incredibly strong and durable, they are extremely incompetent and often do the Shredder more harm than good.1987 cartoon - Bebop and Rocksteady were members of a gang whom the Turtles had defeated in a fight. They were convinced by the Shredder to undergo mutations so that it would make them stronger and enable them to defeat the Turtles.2012 cartoon - Bebop was originally a professional thief named Anton Zeck, and was the close associate of Ivan Steranko, a Russian arms dealer and art collector. When the pair tried to steal from the Shredder, and tried to hunt down his rogue daughter Karai in an attempt to win back his favour, he had them captured and turned into mutants to serve under his command.2016 film - Bebop and Rocksteady were criminals the Shredder picked to work for him, and to be turned into mutants.
