Angelo is part of the Mafia Class of 04 that is released from prison after the RICO Trials in the 80s. He shared cells with and became very close to Tony Blundetto. Angelo was consigliere to Carmine Sr., but obviously after his stint in jail, he lost this rank. It is suggested by Tony Soprano that Angelo share the job as Boss of Brooklyn with Johnny Sac and Carmine Jr. It is clear, later, that only one man can run the show. Angelo drops out of the race and backs Carmine Jr. After his friend Lorraine is killed, he and Rusty Millio under Carmine Sr. organize to have Joe Peeps killed using the New Jersey crew. It is successful, but in retaliation for this Johnny Sac has Phil Leotardo kill Angelo in his car trunk.
