Agent Simon Donovan was assigned to protect CJ Cregg when she began to get death threats. He was good at his job, effectively protecting CJ despite definite resistance. As the detail continued, however, and Simon and CJ spent most of their waking hours together, chemistry evolved, culminating one night when Simon was walking CJ home and she tried to kiss him. After CJ's threat was found, CJ and Simon set up a date, and Simon went to go buy a candy bar and a rose at a convenience store. He unwittingly walked in in the middle of a hold-up, and while he apprehended one suspect, there was another in the store who fatally wounded Simon. Simon was also a big brother to Anthony Marcus, a brotherhood that Charlie Young eventually takes over.
