Dolores Landingham, respectfully referred to as Mrs. Landingham in the administration of President Josiah Jed Bartlet, serves as the commander-in-chief's executive secretary. Her relationship to the president goes back many years, starting with her employment at the prep school where a young Bartlet was educated. A widow, she has two sons who were killed in the Vietnam War. Over the years, Bartlet has become part son, part little brother to her.
