Born in California and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, Torsten Johnson found his passion for acting between games of soccer and ultimate Frisbee. Torsten began his study of the performing arts at Interlochen Arts Academy. Graduating with a BFA from The Guthrie Theater/University of Minnesota and an interest in the New York scene, Torsten made the big move to the East Coast and has been seen in productions with such renowned companies as Second Stage Theatre, The Guthrie Theater, The Acting Company, and The Shakespeare Theatre of NJ. His indelible presence was quickly recognized and led to his recent appearance on THAT DAMN MICHAEL CHE (HBO). When not on stage or screen, Torsten can be found adding to his ever growing list of outdoor activities - including fly fishing, whitewater kayaking and, most avidly, rock climbing, which he can be found practicing at NYC gyms, on the boulders of Central Park, and on the mountain peaks of the Rockies.
