Robert was born and raised in Beijing, China. At the age of 10, he performed in Peking Opera productions around the city. Influenced by his intellectual parents, he also took studio arts, reading and writing as his childhood hobbies.Attending Fudan University in Shanghai, Robert studied for a journalist major but never gave up his passion for acting. He eventually went to New York University to study with Prof. Richard Schechner, one of the prominent figures of American modern theater.After graduation with a master's degree, Robert started his career as actor in New York City by working in the theaters and taking on smaller roles in the film and TV productions. His performance in the legendary Nuyorican Poet's Cafe's production of Preacher and Rapper was highly praised by the theater critic from The New York Times.Now with many credits in both studio and independent films, Robert has been dividing his time across the Atlantic Ocean. While taking on more international productions shot on locations in China, he also picked up his writing skills once again. His most recent achievement is a screenplay based on the real event that took place during the turbulent years of China's Cultural Revolution. Show less «
