Megumi Haggerty is a bilingual American actress of Japanese and Irish descent. She was born in Louisville, KY and then moved to Japan where she began modeling at the age of six. After seven years in Japan, she moved to England for a number of years before moving back to the States for high school. Once in the States, she began acting in local theaters and trained at The Papermill Playhouse's Summer Conservatory in Millburn, NJ. She continued her training at Emerson College, where she earned a BA and doubled majored in Acting & Theatre Education. Megumi appeared in a number of Emerson Stage shows as well as the musical Surviving the Nian (for the Theatre Offensive) at the Boston Center for the Arts, garnering her first IRNE nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. Megumi now lives in New York City, and has appeared in a number of commercials, film, and voice-over spots.
