Lina was born in Mumbai and bred in west Los Angeles and Irving, Texas. Lina studied theatre at New York University (B.F.A.) and the University of San Diego (M.F.A.) She is an actor, playwright and most recently television writer.Lina's plays have been developed and presented at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, New Harmony Project, Sewanee Writers Conference (as a Walter E. Dakin Fellow), The New Group, The Lark Play Development Center, East West Players, and Circle X Theatre. Lina was selected for Center Theater Group's yearlong Writers Workshop. The play she developed at CTG, The Ragged Claws, was produced at Cherry Lane Theatre's Mentor Project (nominated by David Henry Hwang).Other theatre productions include, That Could Be You, commissioned by Silk Road Rising; Sweet Life, at Circle X Theatre and the Samuel French OOB Festival; and the short plays Belief and Canary commissioned by Chalk Repertory Theater.Last year, Lina completed the Warner Brothers Writers Workshop and got her first staff-writing job on The 100.Lina has been commissioned by Yale Repertory Theater. Her work has received grants from the NEA and ARC-CCI in Los Angeles.Lina has also worked as a critically acclaimed theatre actor and voice-over artist.
