Born in Buenos Aires, Juan Pablo is the third son of painter Marta Maineri and Victorio Di Pace. He has lived in Spain, Italy and England. At 17 he was awarded a scholarship to the United World College of the Adriatic in Trieste and later studied theatre at the London Studio Centre. Before graduating he was cast in Walter Bobbie's London production of "Chicago".Juan Pablo has made several appearances on British television, such as the Living TV drama "Rubenesque" directed by Annie Griffin, the BBC One comedy "The Catherine Tate Show", BBC One film "Aftersun" alongside Peter Capaldi, BBC One series "New Tricks" and BBC Scotland soap "River City", which he joined in 2005 playing the character of Luca Rossi.His on-screen debut was in the film "Survival Island" along with Billy Zane. He was heavily featured in "Mamma Mia!" (2008) alongside Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, and Colin Firth playing the role of Petros. In 2008 he appeared alongside his sister Victoria in the Italian comedy "Tutti Intorno a Linda".For one year, he starred as Tony Manero in the 2009-2010 Spanish production of "Saturday Night Fever" in Madrid, produced by Stage Entertainment which won him critical acclaim by the European press. In 2011-12 he created the role of Juan and starred in the original Spanish production of "Mas de 100 Mentiras" produced by Drive Entertainment.Upon moving to Spain he played regular roles in several TV series such as "Supercharly", aired by Telecinco and "Física o Química", aired by Antena 3 (Spain).In 2012 Juan Pablo wrote and produced "Primer Acto" (Act One) a one man show directed by Victoria Di Pace and inspired by the misadventures of Juan's experiences in show business, with songs by Kander & Ebb, Joaquin Sabina, Stephen Sondheim and Michael Jackson among others. This show won him several awards in Spain including "Best One Man Show" at Mi Butaquita Theatre Awards.Most recently, Juan Pablo had a recurring role on the NBC show "Camp", playing best-selling author Miguel Santos. Since I knew nobody in London, I arranged to work as a volunteer in a home for people with learning disabilities, and they provided me with housing and pocket money. Before starting the theatre course, Mountview Drama School told me there was no money to fund my scholarship so I decided to lose my place there. I was about to leave for Argentina when I auditioned for London Studio Centre as my last chance and they offered me a full scholarship on the spot. Show less «
