Joe Huu Nguyen was born in South Vietnam on April 12, 1981. He migrated to New York City with his family when he was just eleven year old in search for a better life, freedom and to pursue "The American Dream." He did not speak a word of English when he first landed in the United States on April 13, 1992; a day after his birthday.Today Joe is a proud college graduate from State University of New York SUNY Albany with a degree in Communication and minor in Theater. Upongraduating from the university he was offered a job on Wall Street but he turned it down to pursue his true passion; acting.While working as a background actor on the movie Parting Words (2008), the director needed an Asian waiter for a restaurant scene, Joe caught his attention and the director offered him the role. Joe took advantage of the opportunity. As the independent film _Ghost Dance (2005)_ was wrapping up from a day of filming, a few actors were asked to volunteer to stay longer to work on some late night filming. Joe was the first to raise his hand to volunteer to stay. His eagerness to work, again, caught the director's attention. The director soon after approached Joe and offered him a role in the scene which the director was also acting in that was filming that night. In 2006 Joe obtained the principal role in which he played a gangster who beat up John Cho in the movie West 32nd (2007) premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.Joe grew up in Brooklyn, New York City and enjoys the NYC nightlife. When he is not hard at work, on his leisure time, he likes to party at big nightclubs, workout, play sports and spend time at the beach.He is currently living in New York City and pursuing his acting career in film and television. The roles he is working to obtain are serious, strong, confident, romantic and action. One of his goals as an actor is to break the Asian stereotype that Asians are portrayed as: "nerdy", "sexless"; generally "weak character". His ambition is to win an Oscar on the most beautiful and grandest stage of them all, at The Academy Awards.Joe's commitment to acting is the priority of his life. He has stated that he will always pursue acting and will work hard non-stop to be the leading man Hollywood movies.
