Jason Rawcliffe was born in Stanford California to David and Corrine Rawcliffe in November of 1969. He graduated from Palo Alto High School in 1988 (Paly High) and attended college in San Francisco. In 1996 he moved to Tokyo and worked as an English Teacher for NOVA Intercultural Institute, the largest school of its kind in Japan at that time. During that time he mastered spoken Japanese and developed a deep understanding of Japanese culture. He appeared in a documentary as himself in a program called E.Z.T.V. which aired on the Fuji Television Network in 2002. His career at the institute ended abruptly when the company folded in November of 2007, prompting him to return to the United States. However, instead of returning to California, he moved to Hawaii instead, having always dreamed of living there.Throughout his life, the idea of becoming an actor has always intrigued him. His spot on the Japanese television show further motivated him to pursue an acting career. He studied acting under acting coach Wayne Ward in Hawaii, and immediately afterward, got a part as a featured extra on Hawaii Five-0, portraying the character "Matt Porter". Since then he has appeared in multiple episodes of Hawaii Five-0, and films such as Godzilla and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates. He has also done promotional videos for Honolulu Cookie Company both in English and in Japanese, and has worked on independent films and projects. He continues to pursue acting and considers it his true calling in life.
