James Scott Belyeu was born October 13, 1989 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is the son of Ashanti Belyeu, a former photographer, and Joel Scott Belyeu, an electrical engineer. He has a younger sister, Nicole. He was born James Belyeu, but at the age of four his father passed suddenly. In his honor his middle name became Scott. He gained an interest in acting around the age of 12 when he started volunteering at his local church, North Point Community. He was a backstage assistant, but quickly rose to become a production manager. After graduating from Northview High School in Johns Creek, Georgia (2007), James started a successful online retail store. The success from this allowed him free time a year later to pursue acting full time. He was brought on for a small appearance in "The Joneses" starring Demi Moore and David Duchovny. Although it was not much, he was hooked.Belyeu went on to study full time with local actors and was signed to a local Atlanta agency. This agency was able to book several jobs for him, but Atlanta wasn't enough. James wanted more. There was a modeling and acting convention that the agency had ties with in New York. During the summer of 2009 James prepared for months to compete. He won several awards there, even a coveted scholarship to a New York acting school. After returning to Atlanta, he was then selected to work on the first season of "The Vampire Diaries." After working months on the set James knew this was what he wanted to do. He continued to work on local productions such as Due Date (2010), Killers (2010), and Road Trip 2 (2009).Fast forward to January 2010, James moves to New York and attends the New York Film Academy. During his time studying there he booked a few jobs here and there, such as "Smurfs", "The Good Wife", "Law and Order:SVU", and a few off Broadway one night performances.After graduating from the film academy, James moved back to Atlanta to conquer the growing market there. But found a new love while doing this, production. In 2011 he was brought on as Vice President of Afterlight Pictures, a large independent distribution company in Atlanta. This position brought a lot of great experiences into his life, including being able to attend the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France with a film Afterlight sold there.Most recently, James started an online video blog on YouTube "JamesScottTV"(2014). It had great success in its first few months. But due to the overwhelming success James had to make the hard decision to go on hiatus. There are talks that it will be returning late summer 2015.Belyeu's favorite sports include snowboarding, tennis, rock climbing, and wake boarding. He enjoys spending time with his closest friends and family. His most treasured hobby is traveling.
