Caris Vujcec is an American-born actress, writer, producer and director of Mediterranean decent, born and raised in Syracuse, New York. Caris recently returned from The Bilbao Web Fest in Bilbao, Spain, where she was awarded The Starlet Amets Otsoa - Best Actress - for her work in her self-created digital series, The Pepper Project. She is best known for roles in P.S. I Love You (2007) and the recurring role of Detective Louise Campesi on Law & Order - both Criminal Intent (opposite Chris Noth and Julianne Nicholson, 2007-2011) and SVU (opposite Mariskay Hargitay and Danny Pino, 2012-2015). Caris created, wrote, executive produced, produced, co-directed and leads the cast of The Pepper Project, a "new female-centered sexy badass tv/digital series," which has completed production on the pilot episode, has been touring the indie-festival circuit. The Pepper Project won Best Suspense/Thriller at the 2016 Miami Web Fest, and, to date, has earned six industry awards, including two Accolade Global Film Competition Awards for TV Pilot and Series, an IndieFest Female Filmmaker Award and The Best Shorts Award of Excellence. Caris received a Master of Fine Arts in Acting and Directing from The University of Missouri-Kansas City and graduated with a B.S. from The S.I. Newhouse School of Communications and Department of Drama at Syracuse University. She was inducted into the Liverpool Central School District's Fine Arts Hall of Fame, 2015 Honorees, which recognized outstanding achievement in the area of fine arts, in the community and at-large. An avid cyclist, Caris rides for BIKE MS, which raises awareness and supports research and funds for those living with MS; she is a five-time Elite 200 fundraiser for the NYC Chapter.
