Andrew Neil McKenzie was born on September 23, 1991 in Red Deer,Alberta. McKenzie's Father founded and leads a counseling center and his Mother gave up a career in nursing to raise her children and is extensively involved in many volunteer positions. Although McKenzie's role of "Young Man" in Fargo was originally only planned to appear in episode 1.01 (The Crocodile's Dilemma), Producers and writer Noah Hawley of Fargo were so pleased with McKenzie's performance that they adapted the script to bring him back in episode 1.10 (Morton's Fork).McKenzie could be found at 6:30 AM running to school from clear across the city in order make it on time to his morning rehearsal for any one of 3 different plays he was involved in at a time. With a couple acting awards under his belt McKenzie distinguished himself as a thoughtful and compelling actor at an early age. McKenzie also voluntarily led a group that worked in stewardship to his school and community, organizing a 30-hour famine or raising money for cancer with "Shave Your Lid for a Kid", of which he was also a participant.McKenzie studied the Meisner Acting Technique under Cindy Christensen at the Playhouse North School of Theatre for two years (2009), along with ballet classes, circus training, and voice lessons. He then relocated to Red Deer to study Acting for Film at Red Deer College under Larry Reese (2011).
