This series based on the book Undateable: 311 Things Guys Do That Guarantee They Won';;t Be Dating Or Having Sex by Ellen Rakieten and Anne Coyle. Danny';;s roommate is getting married and moves out, forcing him to find a new one. He meets his new candidate, a bar owner named Justin, and they hit it off. Justin and his friends, the creepy Burski, oddball Shelly, and recently 'out of the closet' gay guy Brett, all have certain qualities that make them appear 'undateable'.
The summer misses keep on coming as NBC rolls out the disappointing sitcom Undateable, which some viewers will no doubt find unwatchable (sorry, the title begged for it).
Undateable airs in times when summer series aren't always the throwaways they used to be. This may not be a keeper but it may well grow on viewers rather than wear on them. Hey, you weren't expecting another Seinfeld. Right?
Undateable is a bit broad in the early going, but relatively quickly, the comedy establishes itself as the kind of amiable, sweet-and-sour, well-acted ensemble piece you'd expect from Bill Lawrence.
