This American television series drama that centers around the large spread of mysterious crimes, committed by ordinary people, the thing that represents a challenge for Harry Ambrose, a successful detective, who does his best trying to solve these mysteries, by following every small detail.
Some of the storytelling feels less refined than last year... but the cast is again strong enough that The Sinner could again be an addictive summer distraction right when we need it.
Season 2 has enough going on it could spin off the rails, but the mere fact it has so much working for it thus far is a big win for everyone involved. The Sinner is no one-hit wonder.
Though it never strays too far from being a gritty police procedural, the manner in which The Sinner lays out its storytelling cards and obfuscates others makes it an engaging watch.
That's what this season of The Sinner is: an intelligent August thriller that'll hook you in so firmly, it'd be impossible to disengage from its grasp, even if Carrie Coon were not involved.
Season Two has only just begun its twists and turns. But so far, so good, with ample possibilities still in play while Harry's head tries to stay in the game.
