If there's an upside to the "too much TV" world we now occupy, it's the new lease on life it gives to shows like The Mindy Project, proudly occupying its oddball pop-culture corner without undue worry over its survival.
Mindy Kaling's former Fox sitcom arrives at its new home on Hulu Wednesday with Season 4's premiere, and, in doing so, helps prove there's no such thing as too much TV.
The series has always combined Kaling's smart pop-culture-infused dialogue with lots of physical comedy to make a show that's at once of-the-moment, and a satisfyingly old-fashioned sitcom.
This is very much the same Mindy that was canceled by Fox and picked up by the streaming network, but somehow the Mindy Kaling comedy feels brighter and livelier in its return.
