The film centers on Mike Henry who is a news anchor in New York makes an important decision to leave his work in order to take care his family. After five years, he returns his work by dint of supporting of his family and his boss. He must go through fire and water created by his old rival.
Parkinson's is practically a character in NBC's The Michael J. Fox Show, in which the comedian riffs - funnily and affectingly - on his own affliction with the disease.
Though the choice to have the characters speak to the camera feels a little tired, the show is quite possibly one of the funniest new comedies of the season, full of small moments that lead to big laughs.
The Michael J. Fox Show also manages a far more impressive feat; it upstages the curiosity factor of Parkinson's with a heartfelt, family-centered story that's similarly honest about the ups and downs of life.
Fox hasn't lost his gifts as a sitcom actor, and the other players step up to his level. Though the show doesn't warrant a standing ovation, it deserves warm applause.
