The Flash - Season 6 Episode 08: The Last Temptation of Barry Allen, Pt. 2
The sixth season presents new events, as Crisis is completely approaching and may only be weeks away. In those moments, Barry is a member of Team Flash for life without him as he tries to catch a horrendous ugly world during that time. Things turn out completely when Ralph revealed the family secret in moments.
The first part of The Flash's midseason finale, which aired last week, was the heavy emotional hour... Part 2" is all about the action, but the heart doesn't get lost amid all the scares, Bloodwork zombies, and CGI fights.
Oh, well. Even with this slightly messy resolution the Bloodwork arc has generally been more satisfying than a lot of the show's previous Big Bads - Looking at you, Cicada(s) - so I'm willing to call it an improvement and move on.
It was all too neat, and supported by entirely too much expository technobabble (yes, even by this show's standards) to really hold up. It also featured perhaps the single worst example of Caitlin/Frost talking to themselves.
It felt bogged down by too much detail on unnecessary story points before bringing it back to pure, raw family emotion that this show has a bullseye on.
The arrogance of the scientific mind is certainly nothing new on The Flash, but Bloodwork did bring an element of horror to the proceedings that felt like something different. Eight episodes is just about right, I think.
