Following Tara and Clay';;;s arrests, Jax struggles to hold SAMCRO together. Former US Marshall Lee Toric approaches Tara and Clay individually, and offers them deals in exchange for giving up SAMCRO. He must help Tara evade a prison sentence for conspiracy to commit murder, while rebuilding the club in a new vision that will break it from the cycle of violence and greed that ultimately led to his best friend’s death. Later, the clubhouse is attacked, the guys are forced to face their past, and Jax uncovers life-altering secrets.
Sons' occasional bouts of tastelessness are part of the show's strengths, because in its best moments, we see people go through the absolute worst and come out the other side-maybe not happy or healthy, exactly, but they survive.
The plot dictates that we see less of Ron Perlman than usual, and as you might expect his presence is missed. But Charlie Hunnam continues to anchor the show in impressive fashion, while CCH Pounder makes for a worthy opponent.
A season padded with great deal of filler, without enough of it connecting to the climactic character moments for them to carry much weight or purpose beyond the initial rush of shocking violence being perpetrated on a familiar character.
