In this dramatic series, Attorney Jessica Pearson faces serious challenges and successive struggles in the pursuit of social justice. Jessica is working to stand up to the most corrupt cases and prove the corruption of many people. Jessica adapts well to the world of dirty politics in Chicago and is trying to cope fully with those life-threatening issues.
For fans of Suits, the change in tone that comes with Pearson will no doubt be jarring, but it offers a more substantial role for [Gina] Torres in a more fleshed-out version of Jessica.
The weird obsessions that made Suits wildly more entertaining than your standard legal drama have all disappeared. Instead, there's an endless parade of political soap opera.
Overall, the stakes are higher on Pearson than they ever were on Suits, but, ironically, the series is still much more of a slow burn than the flagship show.
