Outlander - Season 5 Episode 10: Mercy Shall Follow Me
Another season starts with substantially more excitement that follows the battles of Claire Randall, a youthful excellent combat nurse, who has a beautiful life with her eager husband, whose life flips around, when she is returned so as to the time of a lethal war, when she needs to wed an attractive Scottish warrior. In this new season, an extraordinary festival for the wedding of Briana and Roger.
Stephen Bonnet is back in this week's episode of Outlander! And while I don't favor his evil ways, he's a sight for sore eyes, considering his antics made for one of the most compelling episodes of the season.
Fast-forwarding Bonnet's arc like that, and his demise, is a bold stroke for the Outlander TV team to take and I'm sure people will have thoughts. I'm all for it.
Watching Claire and Brianna reminisce and connect on the beach here is touching. It's a nice break from the otherwise plot-heavy, high-stakes suspense of the episode.
What Outlander has always done well is its depiction of dramatic moments riddled with tension, and even if you've read the books (like your faithful recapper has) and know what's coming, it doesn't make those scenes feel any less powerful or weighty.
