A former FBI profiler with the ability to look inside the mind of a killer begins working for the mysterious Millennium Group which investigates serial killers, conspiracies, the occult, and those obsessed with the end of the millennium.
Although Millennium hasn't quite found its tone, it's got great visuals and a commanding performance by Henriksen, whose tired eyes and rumbly voice are mood enhancing.
Chris Carter's television work always improves in retrospect; his seemingly haphazard, on-the-fly narratives become more coherent when taken out of the hellish, commercial break-happy context wherein they spawned.
This show is definitely not for everyone. But if you like any form of entertainment that looks at the ugliest, darkest side of humanity and unabashedly labels it for the evil it is, then this is your show.
