CRITICS OF "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit - Season 21"
TV Fanatic
Sometimes watching Law & Order: SVU hurts. It shows viewers week after week what it would be like if there were cops that doubled as social workers and didn't care what it took to get justice for victims. Episode 1 was a powerful example of that.
This was a pretty good episode that handled its ripped from the headlines subject matter thoughtfully, however, there were no chase scenes that involved the detectives running after a perp commenting "I hate it when they run."
Culminates with a relatively simple resolution to a complex problem. Even so, the show maintains a remarkable level of compassion for the victims in question, and viewers can find some comfort in that.
