This show has an innate understanding of how the emotions first encountered in childhood still percolate beneath the surface long after we've officially grown up.
All things considered, Everything Sucks! is an enjoyable nostalgic look at high school life without all of the glitz and glamour that some series use to make their teenagers appear older than they are.
Everything Sucks! feels like it was made by aliens whose spaceship stopped receiving NBC in 1997 and have been just rewatching after school specials ever since.
It's not perfect, but it's a pleasurable experience just spending time with these young people, especially those played by the super-talented leads, Jahi Winston and Peyton Kennedy.
