Doctor Who - Season 11 Episode 02: The Ghost Monument
Following the adventures of a time-traveling alien called 'The Doctor' and his human companions as they deal with crises set on Earth and other worlds.
Well, Doctor Who Season 11 Episode 2 definitely gets the cardio in along with a heap of hiking, a bit of boating, and a scoop of Doctor-approved pacifism.
All in all, it's another strong outing for the show, but an episode a little different than Doctor Who is used to. Whittaker continues to show she's more than a match for the iconic role, and the new line-up of companions are working out nicely.
But what is interesting is that "The Ghost Monument" manages to take a concept that's already been done dozens of times with other people and jazz it up into something that feels like we haven't seen it before. Or at least, not entirely.
What a difference a week makes. With the team's first trip into outer space, Doctor Who is feeling like Doctor Who again; opening titles, a stunning new Tardis, behind-sofa-worthy scares and, most crucially of all, running.
The good news, however, is that even if it's a little lackluster in execution, "The Ghost Monument" is off by a matter of degrees rather than in a way that indicates the show is fundamentally missing the mark. This very much feels like a proper episode.
