The series follows a group of students at a community college in the fictional locale of Greendale, Colorado. A lawyer faked his law bachelor degree and therefore, he enrolls himself into Community college where he forms a Spanish study group just in order to get with a Spanish student. But out of his expectation, the group grows really fast.
The season 4 premiere of Community marks the first episode of the show without creator Dan Harmon and thankfully, much of the trademark zippy dialogue and offbeat humor is still there.
I really enjoyed seeing the little fissures in the characters and am extremely curious to see what paths they will take. I'd call it about even and I can't wait for the rest of the season.
It's still a good show, but it doesn't give me that anticipatory buzz that defines a really great series, that joyous anxiety born from being continually, often delightfully surprised.
Community is still funny. I'd even go so far to say that this show remains one of the silliest, cleverest and weirdest comedies on television. And the Season 4 premiere had moments of that sheer brilliance we have loved about Community for years.
