Batwoman - Season 1 Episode 06: I'll Be Judge, I'll Be Jury
This week started to bring together some of the threads they've been planting along the way but what will be most interesting is whether they continue to make Gotham's social divide a core part of the show or just a background character.
Ruby Rose's performance saves the episode for me. I know there's some concern that her portrayal of Kate has been "bland," but this episode pushes back against that.
Batwoman's willingness to dive into these issues is what separates it most from the rest of the Arrowverse. The show isn't just interested in social justice..., though it clearly doesn't shy away from that.
It has begun to it its stride in some interesting ways. This week's episode put Kate Kane/Batwoman... in a conflict that combined social justice and some interesting backstory for a few of the show's characters.
This is the most entertaining episode of Batwoman yet, which isn't saying much, but still. It's a villain-of-the-week-style episode, and it works because it adheres to the formula.
