Col. Matthew A. Markinson USMC, and the leader of Second Platoon Bravo, 1st Lt. Jonathan James Kendrick USMC). In the middle of it, Tom heard Jessup call his name. Tom went into the office and saluted. Get the President on the line, Jessup said. We're surrendering our position in Cuba. Tom turned, slightly downcast, and prepared to execute.
