Sidney Prescott was born and raised in Woodsboro, California. Her parents were Neil and Maureen. Sidney attended and graduated from Woodsboro High, but not unscathed: when she was a junior her mother was murdered. A gruesome sight which Sidney herself discovered. A year later her friends began to be murdered and it was discovered that her long time boyfriend, Billy Loomis, who was in kahootz with his friend, were behind the killings. After her senior year, Sidney began attending Windsor College. When more murders began happening she went into hiding. It is also discovered that Sidney has a half-brother named Roman. Her aunt Kate was murdered by her own daughter, Jill, which is Sidney's cousin. Not much is known about Sidney after this point except that she worked annonymously for the California Women's Crisis Center as a telephone mediator. She released a new book , Out of Darkness where she explains her life struggles and how she overcomes it. After the events of Scream 4, Sidney is the last known survivor of her family.
