Sheila is a severe agoraphobic upon her introduction to the series. She is trapped in an unhappy marriage to Eddie Jackson at the beginning of the show. He possesses radical Christian beliefs and provides Sheila (who has a high sex drive) with a non-existent sex life. The marriage ends when he catches their daughter Karen performing a sex act on Ian Gallagher. He deserts the family.A sexual relationship develops between Sheila and Ian's father Frank Gallagher after they meet. Frank is most interested in the monetary benefits she receives for her disabilities/condition and lust for sex whereas Sheila falls deeply in love with him. She eventually falls pregnant and gives birth to twins Nigel and Delia on Christmas Day 2004. They go on to marry. However she eventually learns that the marriage is not legal as Frank never divorced his first wife Monica. She leaves with her twins and never reappears in the series again.Prior to the series she was married to a man called Sheldon who abused her for years. She killed her first husband and buried him in her back garden after she became unable to endure any further domestic abuse. Show less «
