Diane Spellman is Sabrina's mom. In the series, she is mortal while in the movie she the one who is a witch and the father is mortal. In the series, she tells Sabrina that she has been coming by secretly every year to check up on her. She is unable to be with Sabrina without risking turning into wax due to a rule made my the witches council to keep all mortals away from marring witches.Diane Spellman spends most of her days digging up fossils. She makes her first appearance during a test when Sabrina gives up her magic so that she can see her mom. In the first episode, they state that Sabrina can't lay eyes on her mom for the next 2 years without turning her into wax. However has the show goes on, the witches council must have changed the rules cause years later Sabrina still can't lay eyes on her mom. When Sabrina was in college, she catches her mom following her and then she gets turned into a ball of wax.In the end, one of Sabrina's aunts gives up her magic and turns into wax so that Diane could go to her daughter's wedding.
