Rhiannon Davies (nee Jones) is the sister of Ianto Jones. She lives with her husband, son, and daughter in Wales on what appears a lower/working class housing estate. She is introduced in Day One of Children of Earth when Ianto visits the estate for the dual purposes of taking his young niece out to celebrate her belated birthday and, more urgently, to investigate the phenomenon of an alien talking through all the world's children and one older, orphaned man.It is not known if Rhiannon Davies has had any sort of knowledge of aliens before the events of Children of Earth, but prior contact is unlikely. She knows nothing and is told nothing about her brother's job other than that he is in civil service . As a result, their relationship is somewhat strange when talking about Ianto's work. Socially, she's quite amused that her otherwise heterosexual brother is seeing a man her friend described to her as like a film star; like an escort , and is pleased when she draws the confession out of him on his visit.
