Nina is an alpha and member of Dr. Rosen's Department of Defense-sponsored team. Unlike most of the team members, Nina appears to have come to Rosen from a life involving a fair amount of crime. Reference is occasionally made to her having used her power to gain possessions, often by manipulating other to break the law on her behalf. Nina is worldly and initially seems uninterested in the more boring lives of her co-workers. Eventually, thought, she warm to her fellow alphas. She takes special interest in helping Rachel grow into a more independent person.Background: Nina is an Influencer, which mean her power is create a lesion on a person's brain and compel them to do what she wants. It is calls pushing. To push, Nina must have eye contact with the subject and her power only lasts for a brief period of time. The extent to which she is able to control a person during a push is somewhat dependent on the person being pushed. We are told she had a very difficult childhood.
