Morris Fletcher is a high-ranking employee at Area 51 in Nevada. According to a colleague, his job is to keep (events at Area 51) out of the papers and make the witnesses disappear. Fletcher is a smooth operator and therefore much of what he says about his own background is to be taken with a grain of salt, but if he is to be believed, Saddam Hussein was really an American actor whom Fletcher discovered at a dinner theater and installed in Iraq in 1978. Occasionally when others are commenting on certain world events, Fletcher will comment, That's one of mine. At his wedding reception years earlier, he told his wife that he couldn't see the cake because her fat ass was in the way.During the Dreamland episode of The X-Files, a mysterious atmospheric phenomenon causes Fletcher and Agent Fox Mulder to swap bodies. While Mulder tries to find a way to reverse the process while dealing with Fletcher's co-workers and his unhappy wife and teenage children, Fletcher revels in being free from his past, presents himself to Assistant Director Kersch as the new Mulder ready to follow all of Kersch's wishes to the letter, seduces Kersch's secretary, and re-furnishes Mulder's apartment in an attempt to seduce Agent Scully, which unfortunately (for Fletcher) fails because she has figured out that he's not really Mulder. He starts cooperating with Scully only after she tricks him into handcuffing himself during the attempted seduction.
