Molly Abrams was introduced in the 1995 film Showgirls. She was a good-natured seamstress who was employed by the Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas, sewing costumes behind the scenes of a big, glitzy topless dance revue called Goddess . One night Molly ran into Nomi Malone, a young drifter who had just been robbed and left stranded in Vegas with no money and no belongings. Molly took her in and offered her a place to live.Molly became a witness to Nomi's rise from anonymous drifter to a showgirl who would eventually steal the lead of the show from the glamourous Cristal Connors. Nomi deliberately pushed Cristal down a large flight of stairs, letting the incident pass as an accident. This tested the friendship between Molly and Nomi, as Molly knew that Nomi's impulsive action was deliberate, but after initially verbalizing her disappointment in Andrew, Molly forgave Nomi.Molly's own undoing proved to be her fondness for a rock musician known as Andrew Carver. Upon Nomi's inauguration as the star of Goddess , a lavish party was given for her, and Molly was able to finally meet Carver in person. However, Carver spirited her away to a private room, where Molly was brutalized and raped by Carver and two of his bodyguards. Molly was last seen languishing in a hospital bed, in and out of consciousness (due to the 'medication' she was being given, not due to her injuries). The Stardust's entertainment director, Zack Carey, was more interested in hushing up the incident than obtaining justice for Molly. Before leaving Las Vegas forever, Nomi paid a visit to Carver and kicked the shit out of him with her boots, stopping by Molly's hospital room to let her know she'd been avenged. It is a sure fire bet that no rapist rock stars ever messed with Molly again. Show less «
